Gallbladder Stone Treatment in South Delhi
Gallstones are found in about one in ten adults, and most never cause trouble. The gastroenterologist's job is to tell you honestly which group you are in — silent stones that can be observed, symptomatic stones that need laparoscopic removal, or stones that have slipped into the bile duct and need ERCP first.

- Pain radiating to the back or right shoulder
- Nausea, vomiting
- Fever with pain (cholecystitis)

- Severe pain to the back (gallstone pancreatitis) — urgent

Questions patients ask about gallbladder stones
Can gallstones be dissolved with medicine?
Only small cholesterol stones, slowly, in a minority — and they usually return. Symptomatic stones need surgery; silent stones often need nothing.
What is ERCP?
An endoscopic procedure that enters the bile duct through the mouth to remove stones or place a stent, avoiding open surgery on the duct.
Do I need surgery for silent gallstones?
Usually not. Exceptions include very large stones, a porcelain gallbladder, or certain risk groups — Dr Paliwal will advise.
